Town Clerk
The Town Clerk is appointed by the Town Manager and serves as clerk of the Council, Financial Town Meeting, Probate Court, and Board of Canvassers and is the Recorder of Deeds. The Town Clerk has a staff of two full-time clerks and one part-time clerk. Clerk to the Trustees, Amey Tucker Spencer Trust Fund.

Birth, Death & Marriage Certificates
You are asked to fill out the application, supply a copy of your driver's license and submit a check made out to the Town of Barrington. You can mail it to:

Land Evidence Records (1974 to Current)
Liquor Licenses
Applications for liquor licenses are submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office through the OpenGov online registration system. First time applicants will have to create an individual account for their business.
Frequently Asked Information about OpenGov:
- Apply for a license through the OpenGov Website - complete the liquor license application and upload the required attachments through the e-permitting portal.
- All applications will be reviewed by the individual departments within the Town to ensure that the licensee is in compliance with all State Laws and Town Ordinances.
- The applicant will receive emails from the Town during the review process, and any deficiencies will be noted so the applcant can address them immediately. The applicant will receive status emails and notifications from the start through the issuance of license.
- The required fees can be paid online with the license or in person at the Town Clerk's office.

One-day marriage officiants with the Secretary of State
Land Evidence Vault & Recording (Deeds & Mortgages)
Beginning in October 2023, viewing a watermarked document will require a one-day (24-hour) subscription. The subscription can be purchased for $12 by clicking the “Register” link in the upper right corner of the website, selecting SubscriptionOneDay, and completing the information. Subscriptions are not automatically renewed and will require renewal after the one-day (24-hour) period. Annual subscriptions will increase to $75.00 per year.
Downloading, emailing, or printing of an un-watermarked document will continue to be charged at $2.50/page.
You are welcome to come to the Barrington Town Hall to view and print your records located in the Land Evidence vault at $1.00 per page.
Notary Service
Dog Licensing
In accordance with The Town Ordinance, dogs need to be licensed by April 30, 2023. All those that have previously licensed their dog will receive a notice via email or thru the USPS. After April 30, 2023, a late fee of $10.00 will be added to the license fee. This year, April 30, 2023 falls on a Sunday therefore the Town will allow a one-day grace period and extend the due date to Monday, May 1, 2023. You may license your dog at the Town Clerk’s Office, Barrington Town Hall, during our hours of operation.
