Barrington Community Theatre Summer Camps!

BEST is a fun, welcoming theatre day camp for young actors of all experience levels!  three weeks or one week options. Camp runs 8am-3pm Monday-Friday at the Barrington Middle School.

Session 1: BEST Camp (3 weeks) June 30-July 18, 2025 (performance July 18)   $650 50

Campers ages 8-18* will work on shows to be performed in the evening on the last Friday of each session at the library.

When campers are not in rehearsals, they take part in a variety of workshops and participate in theatre games with their peers - including things like our ever-popular stage combat workshop, Disney/Musical Mashup, lip sync concert, competitive charades, and improv!

SESSION 2 ADVANCED PROGRAM

July 21-August 1, 2025 (performance August 1) $525 (includes $15 non-refundable)

In this acceptance-based program for campers 12-18*, campers will utilize their foundation of skills to tackle a more challenging performance piece.

Workshops will be more in-depth rather than general overview and will tie into the production (character development, movement skills as they apply to the show and specific characters, accents, etc); games will be more advanced and challenge ratings will be turned up.

To ensure the program will be appropriate for all participating campers, campers who are new to the program must audition.

Contact us for an audition slot.  Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue, dress comfortably in something you can move (not dance) in, and be prepared to read from a variety of sides.

Technical Theatre Campers wishing to be a technician rather than an actor for the advanced session can be accommodated with notice.

B.C.T. (And the summer program B.E.S.T) prides itself on being a welcoming and nurturing environment - the participants are welcoming and supportive of each other as they learn and grow - at different points along their paths - together. We run our program on the idea that there is something to learn in each part of theatre - and that there is a lot to gain not only from being a lead, but also from playing a supporting role, as such we strive to cast our actors as both a larger and a smaller part in each session to help them grow.

Theatre is a community, and we pride ourselves on not only putting on shows that the actors are proud of, and their families enjoy, but also providing a program that is both enriching and fun.

Older students who wish to challenge themselves more have the opportunity to direct a show, under the guidance of a staff mentor.

Our internship program is open to participants of high school age who take a leadership role, and wish to challenge themselves even further with greater responsibility. We are incredibly proud of our interns, and all of our students.
