The 2025 Barrington Golf Tournament was held on October 21, 2025, at the Rhode Island Country Club. The event featured 32 foursome teams each with a Barrington resident as captain. Gift cards were awarded in multiple categories such as low gross, low net, and long drive.

Sleep on the Beach Campout
The Barrington Recreation Department will host our annual Sleep on the Beach Campout on Saturday, May 16, and Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Barrington Beach. Last year over 60 families in attendance, the shoreline was filled with tents, campfires, laughter, and community spirit. Families enjoyed roasting s’mores, playing games, and spending a night under the stars- proving that not even a little morning rain could dampen the fun!
Sleep on the Beach Campout will twice in 2026, with a season kick off on Saturday, May 16, 2026 and again Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Arts Festival
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2026
Last year’s Barrington Arts Festival was a huge success! With more than 1,500 attendees filling the Historic Town Hall property, the day was full of vibrant energy, creativity, and community spirit.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the event possible- including Town of Barrington staff, the incredible artists, community tables, food trucks, local bands and performers, and our dedicated volunteers.
We’re proud to continue uplifting our thriving arts community, and we’re already feeling inspired as we look ahead to next year.
Harvest Festival
Saturday, OCTOBER 24, 2026 | 12:00-2:00 PM
Last year we enjoyed a day full of fall family fun outside of Town Hall and the Peck Center! Families danced to a live DJ, grabbed bites from local food trucks, let the kids explore activities, and joined in games for the whole community to enjoy. Those who registered were able to wander through our pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin to decorate, graciously donated by Four Town Farm.
October 4th was a full, fun, community-focused day outside of Town Hall. The day began with a bike safety workshop from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, followed by our annual Harvest Party from 12:00–2:00 PM, and concluded with the Barrington Education Foundation’s Annual Duck Race from 2:00–4:00 PM. It was truly a day to remember!

Tree Lighting
December 5, 2026 - Last year, an estimated 1,000 community members gathered at Barrington Town Hall & surrounding areas for Barrington’s annual Tree Lighting celebration. The event began at 2:00 PM and concluded with the lighting of the tree at 5:15 PM.
The afternoon featured three festive areas for families to explore. Outside the Peck Center, the Winter Wonderland offered holiday games, cookie and ornament decorating, music, food trucks, and a photo booth. In front of Tap-In, Santa’s Workshop delighted visitors with letters to Santa organized by the Barrington Public Library, a toy drive organized by Tap-In, a mini escape room experience, and a meet-and-greet with Santa and his elf. Out front at Town Hall, guests enjoyed live community performances leading up to the tree lighting ceremony.
We are incredibly grateful to our DPW team, Santa and his elf, all of our performers, vendors, and dedicated volunteers who helped make the event possible. A special shout out to the National Honor Society students from Barrington High School for their outstanding volunteer support, and thank you to the Town Council for their continued partnership. Special thanks to Vienna Bakery for donating cookies and to Fireworks Catering for donating hot chocolate.
It was a wonderful afternoon filled with holiday spirit, community connection, and cheerful memories. Barrington Recreation looks forward to continuing to bring festive community events to the town.

Astronomy Day
On September 27, 2025, families gathered on the Town Hall lawn to explore the wonders of the sky. Attendees viewed the sun’s surface through telescopes in the afternoon and returned in the evening to gaze at the moon, star clusters, and distant galaxies.
This free, family-friendly event was co-hosted by the Barrington Recreation Department and the Astronomical Society of New England.
