Counsellor in Training Opportunity for Barrington High School Students
The Barrington Recreation Department is offering a Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) program for Barrington High School students entering their senior year in 2016. The CIT program participants will explore a gradual and progressive focus on learning how to work with children with a variety of learning styles, how to teach chosen specialties, how to manage a program, and how to work with other staff in different situations. The goal is to have a CIT program participant acquire all the necessary skills to become a knowledgeable, effective, and talented counsellor. Training sessions begin in January, 2017 and consist of meetings in the Barrington Recreation Department. Upon successful completion of the program, seniors will be given priority consideration for summer employment as a camp counsellor.
