Human Resources

The Human Resource Department of the Town of Barrington is responsible for all aspects of Personnel Management. Our goal is to provide excellent service to our diverse municipal workforce, departments and the general public. We accomplish this by providing managers with employment services, consultative advice, policy and procedural guidelines, and employee motivation and development tools. For our employees, the HR department provides employee advocacy, benefit issue resolution, equal employment opportunity assurance and skill enhancement training. Overall we strive for the highest standards in providing quality service and creating a work environment that attracts, retains, and rewards talented and motivated people.

Library Technology Director

Barrington Library Information Technology Director w/ exp. in network administration, managing nearly 100 computers and peripherals including portables and AV equipment.

Experience working in a library or school a plus. Good communication skills, and proficiency in VDI, Windows Server, Deepfreeze, Norton Ghost and Office essential.

Summer 2017 GIS Internship Position

The Town of Barrington, Rhode Island is interested in hiring a college student with Geographical Information System (GIS) background for a summer internship. The position will be for approximately 30 hours per week between May/early June and August 2017. The pay rate for this internship is $10-12 per hour, based upon experience and education.
