Town Clerk

The Town Clerk is appointed by the Town Manager and serves as clerk of the Council, Financial Town Meeting, Probate Court, and Board of Canvassers and is the Recorder of Deeds. The Town Clerk has a staff of two full-time clerks and one part-time clerk.

Records kept by the Town Clerk include:

  • Agendas and minutes for the Town Council

  • Voter registration forms, lists

  • Election records

  • Financial Town Meeting

  • Probate Court

  • Land Evidence Records

  • Dog/Cat Licensing

  • Hunting/Fishing/Combination Licenses

  • Cemetery maps, purchases, deeds, burials, monument installation

  • Vital records which include birth, death and marriage

  • Town ordinances

  • Licensing which includes entertainment, holiday, liquor and victualling

  • Permits which includes amplification, banner, junk, private detective, and secondhand dealers

  • Trade names

  • Family farm records
